Today, I’m excited to announce The Chasing Financial Freedom Podcast, a duel effort between Jason Fieber from Dividend Mantra and me, focused on creating freedom in our lives and valuing our precious time over buying things. We’re on separate journeys as he’s saving and investing for an early retirement where as I’m investing in my own business with the goal of creating my financial freedom that way.
The Chasing Financial Freedom Podcast will be a bi-weekly podcast, with episodes released every other week. We’ll cover a wide array of topics from living below your means, to investing, to home ownership, to credit and debt to car ownership, to relationships, to business ownership to the plans for our future and the difference we want to make in the world.
The Chasing Financial Freedom Podcast – Episodes #1-3
The first three episodes are ready for your consumption below, should you choose to accept this challenge:

Chasing Financial Freedom – Episode #2
Chasing Financial Freedom – Episode #3
About Each Episode
In episode one, we introduce ourselves and discuss the paths that lead us up to this point. Our stories are personal (Jason’s more than mine I’d say), so if you’re interested in that, check it out.
Episode two focuses on what we’re up to this month as far as investing (on Jason’s end), and entrepreneurship (on my end). Like I said before, Jason and I are on different paths to creating freedom in our lives and hopefully that will make for an interesting contrast between the two of us on this show. I mention a person and site I find incredibly helpful in my journey, Pat Flynn from Smart Passive Income. Also mentioned by me is a new niche site I’m working on, called DIY Small Business CRM.
In the third episode, we start getting into some really great topics. Jason starts us off discussing retirement accounts and his perspective and choice not to use them for his situation, continuing on from his recent blog post. Who would have known there are tax loopholes for dividends if your income is under a certain amount? Hmm.. Makes me think twice about that strategy. I further discuss one of my favorite articles, which I recently linked to here, from Steve Pavlina’s site, on 10 Reasons You Should Never Get a Job.
If You Listen, Will You Please Provide Feedback?
I’ll be the first to say that this show is amateur. Our sound quality isn’t top notch, the content is a bit cheesy and we have no idea what we’re doing. But I can promise you that we care about what we’re doing and we want to create something that you value. If you listen to the show, I’d like to ask you to give us feedback on what you think in one or more of a few different ways:
- Comment on this post and tell me, and other readers, what you thought of the content.
- Send me an email personally (I’m at firstname.lastname@example.org) and tell me what you thought.
- Head over to the show’s iTunes homepage and subscribe and/or leave an iTunes review.
- Head over to Jason’s site (Dividend Mantra) and let him know what you thought.
- Let me know on Twitter what you thought and/or Click here to Tweet out that you loved it!
To be honest, I talked Jason into this. He’s far too busy to add more to his plate so I’m thankful for his willingness to add something extra to it all. I’ve always felt our conversations were too good to only be heard by the two of us, so this was my solution. I hope you enjoy it and get value from it. Again, please let us know what you thought, even if you didn’t think it was value added.
Help Us Reach a Larger Audience!
