Welcome to the seventeenth episode of the Create My Independence Podcast.cmipodcastartsmall

In the sixteenth episode, I first give an update on how things are coming with my business, both good and bad. The awesome news is that I covered over 75% of my expenses last month and my cash flow is increasing every month. If you missed that episode and want to hear more, head back and listen to that episode.

In today’s episode, we’re covering both what DOES work and what DOESN’T work when it comes to making an independent income online (or even offline). This is all coming from my personal experience over the past year where I’ve been building my business up from nothing. I’ve tried it all. I’ve tried doing it myself, throwing up the ads, sitting back to collect and much more. Some things have worked and MANY things haven’t. Listen in for 5 things that DON’T work and 5 things that DO work. Bottom line, relationships work. That’s my number one lesson from this past year.

Here’s What I Talk About in This Episode

5 Things That DON’T Work:

  1. Picking a niche, putting in a “little” work, throwing up ads and then sitting back to collect
  2. Half-assing it
  3. Not being transparent
  4. Not being committed (not sticking with it for years (yes, years))
  5. Doing it on your own

5 Things That DO Work:

  1. Hard work
  2. Relationships
  3. Experience
  4. Persistence
  5. Value (price you’re charging vs. what you’re providing)

I would also add “luck” and “timing” to the mix. There is some X factor that seems to be out of our control. Hard work can minimize, but sometimes luck falls in strange places.
